Report: More Space for the Olympic Spirit
Sustainability, movement, transparency and working for peace are the values to which the International Olympic Committee IOC has pledged itself with its Agenda 2020. “Olympic House”, which opened in June, allows all 500 of its employees formerly based in various offices in Lausanne to work together more efficiently, expresses these values consistently in its architecture and is the model for future Olympic buildings worldwide. Over 95 % of the material from the demolition of the old, outdated building was recycled. Most of this was concrete, which was crushed on site and added to the mixes for the reinforced concrete components in proportions of up to 30 %.
