A group of clients, including the architect himself, joined forces to realize this scheme, which consists of a row of nine terraced houses with a communal unit at the end. Situated on the outskirts of Dornbirn in Austria and enjoying a view to the Bregenz Forest, the dwellings form the first stage of a mixed development for which further housing strips and a commercial unit are planned. The use of prefabricated timber elements helped to ensure low production costs and a short construction period. The individual two-storey houses, each with a floor area of about 80 m2, allow a flexible use of the internal spaces.
