Finnish Forest Museum and Forest Information Centre

This winning competition entry bore the name "Lusto", the Finnish word for the annular ring of a tree, which is here seen as a symbol of growth. This is echoed by the circular form of the central building, which houses the permanent exhibition extending over an area of 1,500 m². Other facilities include archives, a library and spaces for temporary exhibitions, lectures and practical activities connected with the theme of the forest. The siting of the centre is largely determined by the topography.
